Sarah's verdict arrives
Next week on Coronation Street, Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) faces the climax of her murder trial as the jury returns with their verdict. After her barrister delivers a closing speech, Sarah prepares herself for the outcome on Monday October 19.
Meanwhile, Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) turns down Debbie Webster's (Sue Devaney) offer of a romantic night in to head out with Ed Bailey (Trevor Michael Georges). He confesses that while he still fancies Debbie, he's concerned about the effect her dementia will have on their sex life.
Ross's toxic influence grows
Ross Wilkes' (Ian Burfield) toxic influence on his son Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) intensifies. On Monday, Ross forces Tyrone and Dorin (Henry Nye Meller) to practice boxing, though neither enjoys it.
On Tuesday, Ross is unimpressed to learn that Ruby and Hope Dobbs (Billie Naylor and Isabella Flanagan) want to take up boxing. When Tyrone tells Hope that boxing isn't for girls, she points out his sexism, leading him to change his mind.
On Wednesday, when Tyrone gets a text from Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) requesting that he pick up popcorn for their family film night, Ross convinces him to ignore it, takes his phone, and supplies him with another pint. He eventually sends Tyrone home drunk, much to Fiz's chagrin.
Debbie's wedding mix-up
On Wednesday, as Debbie gives Denise, a bride-to-be, a tour of the hotel while confirming her wedding is booked for July, she's crestfallen when Denise corrects her: she requested June. Carl suggests that Ryan take over bookings.
Later, as Carl and Ronnie talk, Paula (Kellie Hollis), Debbie's former prison-mate, watches on. On Friday, Denise tells Ryan that she doesn't want Debbie to have anything to do with her wedding, while Debbie is confronted and threatened by Paula. When Ryan and Denise come across them arguing, Denise demands her deposit back. Denise's fiancé arrives and Ronnie finds Debbie flirting with him mercilessly after explaining that her own husband no longer fancies her.
Bernie's test results
On Wednesday, Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) receives a letter from the hospital with her results, confirming she carries the BRCA gene. This leaves Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) and Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) concerned as she flees upstairs.
On Friday, after learning that Ross took Tyrone's phone, Fiz confronts him and accuses him of purposely sabotaging family film night.
