Corrie: Kit rushed to hospital as Sarah fears worst

Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is rushed to hospital in Coronation Street after collapsing outside the tram station, leaving Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) fearing the worst.

Kit is still coming to terms with his life-changing breast cancer diagnosis, which has affected his nearest and dearest too. His whole family were potentially at risk from the BRCA gene, including his mum Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove), who is a carrier.

Kit's Secret Illness and Family Strain

True to form, Kit initially kept the cancer a secret from his family, friends and colleagues. When DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) started to notice that something was off about Kit's mood, he eventually came clean and shared his illness with Lisa, who has offered her full support.

Kit's ex Sarah Platt is fresh out of prison for the manslaughter of Theo Silverton (James Cartwright). She broke up with Kit so as not to hurt his career in the police. Then a heartbroken Kit found comfort in the arms of Sarah's daughter, Bethany (Lucy Fallon) – who just might be pregnant.

Collapse at the Tram Station

In Tuesday's episode, an exhausted Kit ignored Lisa's advice to go home. But when a distressed woman in the waiting room had a coughing fit all over him, Kit lost his temper. Having seen the exchange, Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) comforted the woman before telling Bernie, Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) and Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) about Kit's behaviour.

In upcoming episodes, Kit's determination to carry on working as usual causes problems resulting in life and death jeopardy. Brody pointed out that he is on chemo and needs to be careful. When Lisa tells Kit he needs to go on sick leave, he hits the roof and rails at Bernie for being over protective.

Sarah Rushes to Aid

In the hospital chemo room, Kit is overcome by a wave of loneliness. Sarah confides in Bernie that Kit is avoiding her and Bernie reassures he is pushing everyone away. A stunned Sarah sees Kit collapse outside the tram station and rushes to his aid.

When Kit breaks down at the flat, Sarah is taken aback to see him so fragile and pulls him in for a hug. Whether he will accept her help remains to be seen.
