Coronation Street Grooming Plot: Shock Pregnancy Test Twist Revealed
Corrie Grooming Plot Takes Horror Turn with Pregnancy Test

Coronation Street's harrowing grooming storyline is poised to plunge into even darker territory next week with a shocking pregnancy test twist. The controversial plot, which has followed teacher Megan Walsh's illicit relationship with teenage pupil Will Driscoll, will take a devastating new turn.

A Secret Revealed at a Birthday Party

The drama unfolds when Megan, played by actress Beth Nixon, purchases a pregnancy test. Her attempt to keep it hidden fails spectacularly during a birthday party for Daniel Osbourne's son, Bertie. Bertie accidentally rummages in Megan's bag while looking for cake candles and pulls out the pregnancy test in front of stunned party guests.

This shocking discovery comes after Will, already furious, confronted Megan about her deepening public relationship with Daniel Osbourne. Will had seen them together buying Bertie's birthday cake, a cover for Megan's secret affair with the schoolboy.

Megan's Desperate Situation Worsens

By the end of the week, Megan's predicament shows no sign of improvement. She is found sobbing in Victoria Garden by Leanne Battersby and Eva Price, though what she confesses to them remains to be seen. In a further complication, Daniel later admits to Megan at the Bistro that he is falling in love with her, entangling her web of lies even further.

The storyline shows no signs of concluding, as actress Beth Nixon has recently signed a new contract with the ITV soap. Speaking about her challenging role, Nixon acknowledged the complexity of playing a character who is a predator.

Raising Awareness Through Drama

Nixon has spoken about the plot's intention to raise awareness, challenging perceptions that sometimes glamourise such relationships. "It creates a lot of debate, because a lot of people say, 'It’s a 15-year-old boy’s dream' but, if you flip it the other way round, it’s always seen as disgusting," she stated.

She emphasised the storyline's purpose: "If it’s a storyline that makes one person recognise that this is happening to them and it’s wrong, then it has done its job."

Coronation Street continues to air on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
