Corrie fans plead for Sally Metcalfe in fostering horror

Coronation Street fans have issued the same plea for Sally Metcalfe after she became upset following Lucy's serious allegations against her. Viewers are urging Tim to step up and help Sally as the fostering storyline continues to escalate.

Sally Left Terrified During Halloween Chaos

It's been a frightful week on Coronation Street as Weatherfield was in the full swing of Halloween on Tuesday (October 27) as the residents dressed up for the occasion. There was added fear amongst the cobbles as HMP Stoneway reported a riot as prisoners rebelled against staff during the powercuts. For Sally and Tim Metcalfe, they were concerned that Mick Michaelis would escape once again to get access to his children that they've been fostering.

As Tim took Joanie Michaelis and Lucy Parker over to the Rovers for a Halloween night out, Sally chose to stay in as Shanice was feeling poorly in bed. Things soon took a turn, as powercuts left Sally feeling on edge and after receiving two phone calls on the landline with no one answering on the other end, and a mysterious ghost figure popping up outside of the window, she was left terrified.

Vase Incident Sparks Allegations

At the end of the episode, the ghost appeared in her home, Sally panicked and hit them over the head with a vase. It was later revealed that Lucy was hiding underneath the ghost. In Thursday's (29 October) episode Sally is left fearing the consequences after accidentally striking Lucy during a Halloween prank. Believing the youngster to be an intruder, Sally reacts without realising who is behind the scare.

However, Sally and Tim's morning takes an unexpected turn when social worker Ruth arrives at their home, explaining that she has received a voicemail from Lucy. Before the adults can discuss the situation, Lucy heads out, giving Sally a triumphant look as she leaves. Ruth then shares a series of allegations Lucy has recorded in her journal, accusing Sally of being controlling, treating her unfairly and making unkind comments about her behind her back.

Lucy Sent to Respite Home

Elsewhere, Christina, who knows she is Lucy's grandmother but has yet to reveal the truth to the youngster, comes across her granddaughter sitting on Maxine's bench. Lucy tells Christina about the incident involving the vase, prompting her to offer to sit down for a cup of tea and talk things through. However, Lucy rejects the suggestion.

When Lucy returns home, she is stunned to discover that Ruth has arranged for her to move into a respite home. Rather than seeing Sally face the consequences she had hoped for, Lucy finds herself the one being sent away. Later, Christina confides in George about her concerns for Lucy, particularly following the incident in which Sally hit her. Determined to protect her granddaughter, Christina decides to confront Sally and Tim.

Fans Urge Tim to Support Sally

Arriving at their home, Christina brings up the vase incident and becomes increasingly angry as Sally attempts to explain herself. The confrontation quickly spirals, forcing Tim to intervene and usher Christina out of the house. Left devastated by the encounter, Sally breaks down in tears as Christina leaves. Tim does his best to comfort his wife, but Sally is convinced that everything that has happened is her fault.
