Corrie Christmas 2026: Platts, Jodie's bleak fate, Debbie's last

Coronation Street's 2026 Christmas episodes will see the Platts gather at the Bistro, a bleak festive period for Jodie Ramsey, and a bittersweet final Christmas for Debbie Webster, according to cast interviews and behind-the-scenes hints.

Platts at the Bistro and Snow on the Cobbles

On the podcast On The Sofa, Jack P Shepherd, Colson Smith, and Ben Price discussed the upcoming festive celebrations. Ben Price, who plays Nick, teased: 'Normally Nick closes it, gets in the kitchen himself. Toyah's on cooking, I'm on decs and table layout. So that's how we split it. And it's who's there, that's a classic, isn't it? We can't reveal who's there.' Jack Shepherd added: 'There's always some drama on Christmas Day…'

Ryan Mulvey shared a TikTok edit showing cast members in fake snow, including Sue Devaney, Sally Carman, Alison King, and David Neilson. The night shoot scenes suggest a community celebration, despite a white Christmas being rare in the UK.

Jodie's Bleak Christmas and Debbie's Last Festive Season

Actress Olivia Frances-Brown hinted at a dramatic peak for her character Jodie, saying: 'It's gonna be a bleak Christmas for Jodie, that's all I'm going to say.' She added that viewers will enjoy it. Jodie will not leave the show, as Olivia has signed a year's contract.

Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) is determined to be joyful for what is expected to be her last Christmas, with her dementia 'ramping up' in 2027. Actor Jonathan Howard, who plays her son Carl, said to the Sun: 'We've just got the latest scripts for the Christmas storyline. Carl is turning 40 just before Christmas and I think everyone is aware that it's potentially Debbie's last Christmas.' He added: 'You don't know how long with dementia someone's going to survive, but there is a feeling this is the last Christmas that she is herself.'

Ronnie and Debbie's Scenes and Other Storylines

Vinta Morgan, who plays Ronnie, confirmed lovely Christmas scenes for Ronnie and Debbie, but warned of 'really dark stuff' ahead. He said: 'Christmas has got some beautiful scenes!' and added: 'We're not going to sugarcoat it; we're going to show it for what it is. Hopefully, it will develop conversations and help raise awareness.'

Other potential storylines include a romantic arc for Glenda Shuttleworth, hinted by Jodie Prenger, and Bethany Platt's secret affair with Kit Green, which could explode over the festive dinner.
