Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) makes a horrifying discovery in Coronation Street next week when she spots Richie (Nathan Sussex) abusing Lucy's murdered mother Rachel in a family video, contradicting the story that he killed her in self-defence.
Christina learnt a few weeks ago that Rachel, Lucy's mother, is her biological daughter. When Christina was younger, she gave birth to Rachel after sleeping with her boss. Unable to care for her daughter alone, she gave the baby to her boss and his partner. Now, amid her grief over losing Rachel, Christina is determined to build a connection with Lucy (Anya Dewin), even though the teenager doesn't know who she really is.
Social worker reveals Lucy's journal
Next week, Sally and Tim Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) are surprised when Ruth the social worker arrives and reveals that Lucy has been keeping a journal about her time with them. The diary contains entries from Lucy about how Sally is 'very controlling' and has apparently been saying nasty things behind her back.
Meanwhile, Lucy confides in Christina about the social worker speaking to Sally. When Christina gets home later, she tells George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) that she's worried about Lucy and really wants to keep her safe.
Video reveals abuse
In the week, Christina spots Lucy in the precinct looking at some family videos. Christina takes a look herself but is troubled to spot Richie in the background of one, clearly being abusive towards Rachel. Horrified, Christina rushes off but drops her keyring in the process.
At Number 11, Christina tells George about the video and how she is certain that Richie was abusing Rachel. This goes against Richie and Lucy's story, which has featured them claim that Richie killed Rachel in self-defence.
Lucy pockets the keyring
Christina and George are shocked by the discovery, but they have another problem on their hands due to Lucy pocketing the keyring Christina dropped. In the undertakers, Lucy arrives and wonders why Christina has a picture of her mum.
