Coronation Street Fans Baffled as Roy's Rolls Reopens Without Changes After Fire

Coronation Street viewers were left scratching their heads as Roy's Rolls reopened this week with virtually no changes, despite being destroyed by an arson attack just weeks ago. The cafe, owned by beloved character Roy Cropper, was set alight in April by Mal Roper as part of a revenge plot.

During Tuesday's episode, Fiz Dobbs and Chesney Winter-Brown visited the cafe for its grand reopening, hoping to see a transformed interior. However, they were disappointed to find everything looked exactly the same, save for new low-energy lighting and wall insulation. Roy's niece, Nina Lucas, noted the walls were 'three shades darker than before.'

Fans took to social media to express their confusion. One user tweeted: 'What was the point of the whole Mal storyline if not to get an updated Roy’s Rolls? Make it make sense!' Another joked: 'Spot the difference...clue there isn't any.'

The arson attack saw Roy trapped inside his flat above the cafe, but he was rescued by Jodie Ramsey and Mal himself, who had not realised Roy was home. Roy has since recovered and stayed with Carla Connor and her wife Lisa while repairs were carried out.

Despite the lack of visual changes, some viewers were pleased to see Roy back in business. One fan commented: 'It's nice to see the real Roy back and the cafe open again.'
