Cheryl will appear on The Voice UK tonight as she assists close friend will.i.am during the battle rounds of the ITV singing competition. The show continues on Saturday, October 10, with coaches will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones, Danny Jones, Tom Fletcher and Kelly Rowland putting their teams to the test with help from special guest mentors.
Cheryl's Return to Prime-Time TV
Girls Aloud star Cheryl will offer her expertise before officially joining The Voice UK as a main coach next year. It was announced earlier this year that the Call My Name singer will feature alongside will.i.am and Kelly on the panel, with rapper Aitch joining as Sir Tom, Tom and Danny step down from the series.
This prominent role represents her first prime-time television appearance in six years, following her absence from the limelight. The move follows a challenging period for the singer, marking her first major television venture since the death of her ex-partner and father of her son, Liam Payne.
Guest Mentors and Team Line-Ups
Programme insiders revealed that Cheryl spent months in discussions and ultimately felt "ready to re-enter the spotlight" with a team she feels exceptionally comfortable with. She is not the only recognisable face providing support to the coaches.
Singer-songwriter Paloma Faith returns to the programme after previously serving as a main coach in 2016, guiding Sir Tom on which team members will progress to the conclusion of the competition. The Voice Australia coach and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Delta Goodrem will assist Kelly following eight series on the Australian version of the programme.
Danny and Tom will be accompanied by their McFly bandmates Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd as they attempt to secure a second consecutive victory following their triumph with AVA in 2024.
Teams Finalised After Blind Auditions
Last Saturday (October 3), the final episode of the blind auditions aired, and the coaches finalised their teams, each consisting of eight acts. The coaches and their advisors will now work alongside the performers to help them maintain their position in the competition, though not all acts can progress.
Team will.i.am includes Diogo Ferreira, Sonna Rele, BMG, Triple Threat, Teodora Sava, Naná Aldrin-Quaye, Ardú and Bella Popera. Team Kelly comprises Monique Nicholson-Porter, Ray Gelato, Lascel Wood, Aaren James, Cris Quammie, Samantha Udeke, Turah Sadiq and Jessica Beth.
Cate McHugh, Vadé Amãlia Estradas, Harry Linacre, Eric and Jensen, Dakari Love, Molly J and Robbie McMinn make up Team Sir Tom, while Ellie Harney, Ross McGuire, Ciiara Nyx, Finlay McKillop, Jack Algar, Frank Raven, Regan Preece and Adam Tucker have signed up with Team Tom and Danny. The Voice UK continues Saturday, October 10 at 8.35pm.
