The Celebrity Traitors 2026 final ended with the Faithful winning, but a joke made by winner Romesh Ranganathan about James Blunt has sparked outrage among viewers, who noticed the singer's reaction during the Uncloaked finale on BBC One.
Actor Sebastian Croft and comedian Romesh Ranganathan triumphed in the End Game, seeing off James Blunt, King Kenny and Leigh Anne Pinnock. The duo took home £41,500 each for their chosen charities - Choose Love for Croft and the Refugee Council for Ranganathan.
Romesh's Joke About James Blunt
During the show, Ranganathan joked that viewers didn't witness host Claudia Winkleman remarking to him and Croft, 'Thank God James Blunt has gone!' when they voted him out of the End Game. The quip sparked laughter in the BBC studio, but James didn't look too impressed when the camera cut to him.
Viewers picked up on a moment when a dour-looking James whispered to Claudia, "Did you really say that?" which was quietly picked up on the show's microphones.
Fans React to James Blunt's Reaction
The moment has left some fans feeling sympathy for the ex-Army Captain. "He's had too many people be openly nasty to him to worry it might be true. I felt sorry for him," said one fan who caught it. "I heard it too, poor guy," said another. "Showed he's a nice guy by that. Just normal like anyone with overthinking and insecurities." "He is so sensitive bless him," added another.
Last night, James said he was 'happy' for the eventual winners despite his fellow Faithful banishing him at the 11th-hour.
