Celebrity Traitors fans have voiced the same criticism within minutes of the latest episode airing, with many saying the current series lacks the humour of the previous one.
The second series of the BBC celebrity spin-off, hosted by Claudia Winkleman, has been running for three weeks after 21 stars entered the Scottish castle. The cast includes comedians, TV presenters, actors and musicians.
Last year's inaugural series was a highlight for many viewers, featuring moments such as Alan Carr's time as a Traitor and Celia Imrie's memorable fart moment. However, some fans feel the current series has not matched that standard.
Fans Compare Series to 2025
During the penultimate episode, viewers took to social media to say the series is not "funny" compared to 2025. On X, one fan wrote: "I'm finding this series a bit flat. Despite having 'comedians' in the line up, nobody is particularly funny. Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross and Joe Marler made the first series."
Another added: "This season is quite boring for me."
While there have been some funny moments, including Little Mix star Leigh-Anne teaching Miranda one of her routines last week, many BBC fans said the series has "too many comedians".
Comedian Line-Up Under Fire
Viewers wrote on X: "This series has had five comedians in it but there's been barely any funny moments", "Where's the fun and laughter? BBC chose at least four comedians!" and "For a series with so many comedians, this series hasn't really been that funny."
This year's comedians include James Acaster, Romesh Ranganathan, Joanne McNally, Miranda Hart and Rob Beckett. Acaster, who was unwillingly appointed a Traitor, has appeared stressed throughout the series but has made it to the end of the competition.
He joined fellow Traitors Maya Jama and King Kenny in the turret ahead of the finale. Thursday's episode continued from last week's cliffhanger at the round table, with the Traitors remaining in good spirits as none of them had been at risk of elimination so far.
Minutes into the episode, Joanne was eliminated at the roundtable. Shortly after, it was revealed that actress Sharon Rooney had been murdered overnight by the Traitors.
The final of Celebrity Traitors airs Friday at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
