Celebrity Traitors fans devastated as Ross Kemp eliminated

Ross Kemp became the latest celebrity to leave The Celebrity Traitors castle after being "killed in plain sight" during Thursday's episode (October 22). The EastEnders legend yawned in the company of Traitors Maya Jama and James Acaster, triggering his elimination from the BBC show.

Last Friday's episode (October 16) had ended on a cliffhanger as the trio of Traitors, Maya Jama, James Acaster and King Kenny, were tasked with murdering one of the Faithfuls. Armed with a mysterious powder, they had to spray it into a room before persuading an unsuspecting contestant to yawn, with Ross and Jerry Hall both lured into the trap.

How the 'Kill in Plain Sight' Unfolded

Maya and James repeatedly yawned in an attempt to get Ross, Jerry or any other Faithful to take the bait. The task required getting another player to yawn and then asking "am I boring you?" without raising suspicion. Minutes into Thursday's episode, it was revealed that Ross had yawned first while in the company of Maya and James.

After learning he had been eliminated, Ross told the camera: "I was really sensitive to people coming close to me; could have been a cheers, could have been anything."

He added: "There's a great line from Shakespeare, I think it's Polonius's advice to his son: 'To thine own self be true,' and I have been true to myself, and I have been true to the Faithfuls."

Fans React to Ross Kemp's Exit

Ross then joked: "Well played, Traitors, but you're always going to be Traitors, and I know where you live."

Celebrity Traitors fans were left emotional after the soap star's exit, with one person writing on X: "Noooo! Ross! #CelebrityTraitors", while a second stated: "ROSS NO. ROSS", followed by a string of crying face emojis.

A third chimed in: "ROSS (crying face) #CelebrityTraitors", as another viewer admitted: "I'm gutted for Ross, his worst nightmare came true lmfao #TheTraitors #CelebrityTraitors."

"Ross #CelebrityTraitors", exclaimed one person as they also shared crying face emojis, while another said in disbelief: "Bog off! Kemp! Nah!"
