Big Brother star Emily Hewertson reveals life changes one year on
Big Brother's Emily Hewertson on life one year after show

Emily Hewertson, who was evicted on her first night in the Big Brother house before making a dramatic return, has opened up about how appearing on the show changed her life. The 2025 contestant finished in fifth place and has since become a familiar face on television.

From shock eviction to finalist

Emily first entered the house on day one but was evicted just hours later in a brutal twist. She made a surprise return on Day 20 in another twist and held onto her place until the final. At 25, she became one of the most controversial figures of the series, with viewers often disagreeing with her conservative politics and calling out her remarks on the show.

Despite the backlash, the Northampton-based star has said Big Brother changed her life in several ways.

New friends and a TV career

Emily now has over 50,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok, where she shares behind-the-scenes truths about her time in the house. In a recent Instagram video, she said: "I thought I would tell you exactly how my life has changed since being on the show. First of all, one thing that has changed since leaving the house is I have some new friends."

She revealed she has stayed in touch with fellow 2025 housemates Sam Ashby, Nancy Nocerino and Cameron Kinch, adding: "I'm still on good terms with the rest of the cast but they're the people that I speak to the most."

Juggling fame and a day job

Her career as a political commentator has also grown since the show. "I think I have been on TV every single month since being on the show, which is literally amazing," she shared. She is a regular panellist on GB News and Jeremy Vine on 5.

Despite her newfound fame, the 26-year-old says she still balances her nine-to-five job with attending industry events. Before missing out on the prize money, Emily had hoped to spend her winnings on friends. She told ITV: "If I win the money, I want to go on holiday. First and foremost, treat the girls. But then, I think I'd be a bit sensible and maybe put some aside. But that's kind of boring, so who knows, I might just end up splashing it all and having a good time!"

A new group of housemates are now hoping to win the life-changing £100,000 prize, with the 2026 winner set to be crowned this Thursday.
