The BBC has released a teaser trailer for the fourth series of Blue Lights, the Belfast-set police drama that fans have called 'the best thing on television' and even superior to Line of Duty.
Fourth Series Coming This Autumn
Blue Lights, which follows officers at the fictional Blackthorn police station in Belfast, has been a major hit since its debut in 2023. The fourth series is scheduled to air this autumn on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The broadcaster shared a first-look clip offering a glimpse of what viewers can expect.
In the exclusive teaser, Constable Shane Bradley, played by Frank Blake, stops an elderly driver named David (Trevor Gill) and his passenger Imelda (Rosamund Monteith) in an attempt to improve Blackthorn's crime statistics. Bradley quizzes the man about whether he has been drinking, but David insists he hasn't touched a drop since 2003.
Cast and Returning Characters
The upcoming series stars Siân Brooke as Grace, Martin McCann as Stevie, Katherine Devlin as Annie, and Nathan Braniff as Tommy. Game of Thrones actor Richard Dormer returns as Gerry Cliff, a character from series one. Hannah McClean reprises her role as solicitor Jen Robinson, and Jonathan Harden returns as disgraced former Inspector Jonty in an episode that will 'answer important questions from the past'. The cast also includes Neil Keery from How To Get To Heaven From Belfast and Andrea Irvine from Call The Midwife.
