Jude Bellingham vented his frustration at the England bench after the Three Lions conceded an early goal in their World Cup round of 32 clash against DR Congo. Brian Cipenga put the African side ahead in the seventh minute, catching England off guard.
Bellingham's Reaction to Early Setback
According to BBC commentators, Bellingham turned to the bench and shouted while throwing his hands in the air. Midfielder Declan Rice was also seen shouting at teammates in the aftermath of the goal, highlighting the shock and disarray in the England camp.
Alan Shearer Points Fingers
Former England striker Alan Shearer identified two players at fault for the goal. 'You can see the shock on the England players and fans faces - this is not what they expected,' Shearer said. 'Cipenga has no other thought but to get the shot away. England are all over the place, Spence comes in with the tackle but can't get there, and Pickford gets done at his near post. For a keeper of his quality he shouldn't be beaten there.'
Bellingham's Yellow Card
Bellingham's frustration boiled over later when he was shown a yellow card for a crunching tackle in midfield. Shearer commented: 'We do see that from Jude Bellingham, we see it for Real Madrid when things aren't going entirely his way. You wouldn't want to take that streak out of him, but he's got to manage it now. Bellingham made his mind up that he was going in for the crunching tackle a few seconds before, and he couldn't change his mind. It is a yellow card, no doubt.'
England now face an uphill battle to avoid a shock defeat and progress in the tournament.
