Isa Guha, a popular Wimbledon presenter for the BBC, was temporarily replaced on Friday, July 10, 2026, by Andy Stevenson, who usually hosts the wheelchair finals. Guha was at Lord's covering a Women's Test match between England and India.
Wimbledon Semi-Finals Underway
The competition at SW19 is nearing its end, with semi-finals taking place. On Thursday, July 9, Czech players Karolína Muchová and Linda Nosková reached their first Wimbledon final after defeating Coco Gauff and Marta Kostyuk on Centre Court. The men's semi-finals on Friday feature British wildcard Arthur Fery against Alexander Zverev, followed by Jannik Sinner versus Novak Djokovic.
Andy Stevenson Steps In
Andy Stevenson opened Friday's broadcast from the shaded Rose Arbour opposite Centre Court, joined by Louise Hunt Skelley and Leon Smith. He highlighted Arthur Fery's local roots, noting he first played tennis at Westside Tennis Club aged four and attended school nearby. "He really is a local hero, as well as a British hero," Stevenson said. Leon Smith added, "I'm absolutely thrilled for him. He's shown a huge amount of determination." Louise Hunt Skelley commented, "The energy and excitement is just taking over. It's truly infectious."
Previous Absences
This is not the first time Guha has been replaced at Wimbledon; former British tennis player Laura Robson substituted for her last week. Guha was also absent on Thursday morning. Coverage of Wimbledon airs on BBC One and BBC Two, and streams on BBC iPlayer.
