The Voice UK is set for a major presenting shake-up next year, with Alesha Dixon and Stacey Solomon taking over hosting duties from Emma Willis, who is moving to Strictly Come Dancing. The move to have two female hosts for the Saturday night series comes after Willis, 50, was poached by BBC1 to front Strictly, formerly presented by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Alesha and Stacey to front the show
Alesha, 47, will introduce The Voice UK’s performers on stage, while Stacey, 36, will focus on the nervous contestants behind the scenes. The pre-recorded series, in which wannabe stars must impress the coaches with their vocal talent alone, returns this weekend with Willis as host for the final time. From next month, she will enter a TV head-to-head with herself as BBC1’s live Strictly Come Dancing launches.
Next year’s 15th series of The Voice will be fronted by Alesha and Stacey, after bosses were impressed by their chemistry during Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year. Mum-of-five Stacey took part in two audition days as a stand-in for Simon Cowell, who was unwell. Alesha has been on BGT since 2012, having been poached by ITV from Strictly Come Dancing.
Insider praises their chemistry
One insider said: “Alesha found Stacey hilarious when she stood in for Simon on BGT - they got on like a house on fire. They are the perfect choice for The Voice because they have so much experience between them.”
“Alesha is a pop star and TV judge on a hit Saturday night show, and Stacey found fame thanks to the X Factor and is now a TV presenter on Sort Your Life Out, where her empathy with people is off the chart. They have brilliant energy together and are buzzing to take on The Voice UK. Everyone is really excited.”
Coach changes and show history
The show, in which the coaches famously turn around their chairs if they want to pick a singer for their team, has been on ITV since it switched channels from BBC1 in 2016. The new series, from Saturday, was recorded back in 2024 but was rested for 2025.
Next year, the coaches are likely to remain the same apart from McFly's double chair duo, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher, who are leaving. They will be replaced by British rapper Aitch when filming on The Voice for 2027 starts in the autumn. The other coaches are Sir Tom Jones and Will.i.am - who have been on the show since it launched in 2012 - plus new recruit Kelly Rowland, who makes her debut this weekend.
Marvin Humes previously held the behind-the-scenes role that Stacey was taking on, but he left in 2016 and was not replaced until now. Earlier this summer, there were rumours that Love Island host Maya Jama had landed the presenting role on The Voice, but she quickly shot them down, saying: “Oh yeah, so funny - I’m not hosting that.” An ITV spokeswoman declined to comment on the new lineup.
