The fifth and final season of The Boys will premiere on Prime Video on Wednesday 8 April, with two episodes. The season will comprise eight episodes, with the finale arriving on 20 May. Series creator Eric Kripke has long planned for this to conclude the flagship superhero show.
A teaser was released in December 2025, followed by a full trailer on 5 March 2026. Footage screened at Comic-Con 2025 offered a first glimpse of Homelander (Antony Starr) as the de facto leader of America, telling a crowd the country will be a “safer, God-fearing nation”. A brief look at Jared Padalecki, who had previously revealed he would appear in the season, was also shown.
New additions to the cast include Ely Henry as new Supe The Worm, while Dylan Colton, Emma Elle Paterson and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan will portray members of Teenage Kix, Vought International’s teen superhero team from the original The Boys graphic novel. Daveed Diggs has also joined the season, and Stranger Things alum Mason Dye will appear in a guest role as Bombsight, a character active in the 1950s and described as the third oldest known supe in history.
Returning cast members include Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie and Cameron Crovetti, alongside Season 4 additions Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Jensen Ackles is set to reprise his role as Soldier Boy as a series regular, following an announcement at Comic-Con in July 2024.
Claudia Doumit, who played Victoria Neuman for three seasons, has confirmed her character’s death, though she noted that The Boys has “creative ways” to address such outcomes. She said it was time for Neuman’s story to end, allowing focus on characters like Butcher and Annie. Meanwhile, according to sources, Bombsight may migrate to the upcoming prequel series Vought Rising, with Dye poised to become a series regular opposite Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash.
