Netflix has launched a new dating series, Age of Attraction, which challenges the notion that age matters in romance. The programme premiered on March 11 with five episodes, followed by further instalments every Wednesday until the finale. It features 40 singles from across America, aged between 22 and 60, who date without knowing each other's ages.
The show is hosted by Nick Viall, 45, and Natalie Joy, 27, who themselves have an 18-year age gap. The couple began dating in 2020 and married four years later. They have been open about the difference in their ages, with Nick admitting he initially felt anxious about it.
Speaking on Alex Cooper's Call Her Daddy podcast, Nick said: "At first, it was something I think I was having a lot of anxiety about. You know, like, 'Are we going to be compatible?' And I think early on that was part of the things I would worry about." He added that as he got to know Natalie, he felt they were on the same wavelength and always considered her his equal.
Natalie echoed that sentiment, saying: "We realised we were at the same stages of life and we were ready for the same things ... I'm in a place where I want to get married and have children and he's also in that same place. We both have big careers and aspirations and jobs and stuff that we both love."
The couple welcomed their first daughter, River Rose, in February 2024, and Natalie is currently expecting their second child. Age of Attraction is available to stream on Netflix now, with new episodes arriving weekly until the finale.
