Netflix has announced a major update for its upcoming live-action adaptation of the influential Gundam franchise, confirming a star-studded cast led by Sydney Sweeney and Jason Isaacs.
The film will tell a brand new story set in the midst of a lengthy space war, featuring giant robots known as Mobile Suits. Production is underway on the unnamed project, which follows rival mech pilots fighting on opposite sides of a decades-long conflict between Earth and its former space colonies.
Other cast members include Noah Centineo, Jackson White, Shioli Kutsuna, Nonso Anozie, Michael Mando, Javon Walton, Oleksandr Rudynskyi, Ida Brooke, Gemma Chua-Tran, and Jason Isaacs.
Netflix's synopsis describes the film as having "awe-inspiring battles, intimate human emotion, and an epic cinematic scale", with a storyline that sees shifting allegiances and a growing threat pulling characters into a high-stakes race across the stars.
