Netflix has officially confirmed a fifth season of the legal drama The Lincoln Lawyer, with a release expected in summer 2027. The renewal was announced in January 2026, before season 4 premiered, with co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez stating they are already 'hard at work on the next one'.
Lead actor Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, who plays Mickey Haller, described season 4 as his favourite yet, praising its darker and more emotional tone. 'It’s more emotional. As an actor, it’s always better for me to play that darker side,' he told The Hollywood Reporter. The season ends with multiple cliffhangers, including an assassination attempt on Mickey and the introduction of a mysterious woman played by Cobie Smulders, who reveals she is his sister.
The upcoming season will consist of 10 episodes and be inspired by Resurrection Walk, the seventh novel in Michael Connelly's Lincoln Lawyer series. The core cast is expected to return, with Smulders playing a major role. However, Elliott Gould's character Legal will not return, having died in season 4.
Fans may face a wait similar to the gap between seasons 3 and 4, which was just over a year. Based on this pattern, a summer 2027 release is plausible. Further details on casting and production are yet to be announced.
