Netflix warning: Jennifer's Body leaving platform in days
Jennifer's Body leaving Netflix in days - warning issued

Netflix has issued a warning that the 2009 horror film Jennifer's Body, starring Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried, will be removed from the platform on November 7.

The movie, which has been available on Netflix since May this year, follows Megan Fox as Jennifer Check, a cheerleader who is sacrificed to Satan by an indie group desperate for stardom. After the ritual, Jennifer becomes possessed by a demon and begins craving male victims. Amanda Seyfried plays her geeky best friend Anita 'Needy' Lesnicki, who becomes her enemy as the story unfolds.

Star-Studded Cast and Cult Following

The supporting cast includes J.K. Simmons, Adam Brody, Chris Pratt and Kyle Gallner. Despite a poor Rotten Tomatoes score of 36 per cent, the film has remained popular with horror enthusiasts.

One reviewer praised the movie, saying: "The perfect mix of gore, dry humour satire, original story, and, of course, an amazing soundtrack. As a horror/thriller superfan, this movie continues to delight even after seeing it ~10 times. Regardless of ratings it keeps playing and for good reason. A modern cult classic."

Fans Defend the Film

A second fan wrote: "Genuinely love Jennifer's Body. I feel like this movie was so misunderstood when it first came out because it's so much more than just a horror movie. I love the mix of dark humour, gore, and the complicated friendship between Jennifer and Needy."

They added: "The movie also touches on female friendship, jealousy, and how women are treated, but in such a chaotic and entertaining way. Megan Fox was literally made for this role, and the whole aesthetic of the movie is everything."

Another viewer simply described it as a "Cult classic for a reason," while a fourth called it "Such an iconic 2000s movie never gets old."

Jennifer's Body is currently streaming on Netflix and will be removed from the platform after November 7.
