Netflix Unveils First Look at Bridgerton Season 4 Part Two with Steamy Trailer
Netflix has finally released a first look trailer for the second part of its steamy fourth series of Bridgerton, and it is packed with three hot-under-the-collar romantic encounters. The regency-era drama series returned to the streaming service last month with the first four episodes of its highly anticipated fourth series, and four more episodes are set to follow on February 26.
Forbidden Love Takes Center Stage
With the release date fast approaching, the trailer showcases the forbidden love between Luke Thompson's Benedict Bridgerton and Yerin Ha's Sophie Baek boiling over. The clip sees Sophie and Benedict growing closer once again after the ladies' maid was last seen fleeing following a staircase romp with Benedict, as the Bridgerton son asked her to be his mistress.
Despite upsetting her, Benedict has not backed down in chasing after Sophie. Instead, he sends her letters and follows her around the Bridgerton house to keep her attention directed toward him. The voice of Lady Whistledown can be heard saying at the opening of the first look, There are moments in our lives where we arrive at a crossroads. For beings from opposite worlds, the desire is not the problem, but the world itself.
Emotional Confrontations and Passionate Moments
In the trailer, Benedict confronts Sophie outside the modiste, telling her, You did not answer my letter, to which she replies, Because I do not wish to see you. Sophie explains to a friend, Being a mistress is the last thing I would ever want, as she is quizzed on her plans. The pair argue over his proposition, with Benedict shouting, How else am I meant to be with a woman society has made it impossible for me to be with?
Benedict's brother Colin, played by Luke Newton, advises him, You must be brave, you cannot let fear stop you from letting your heart speak. The second eldest Bridgerton son then approaches Sophie during a lavish dinner at the household in an attempt to share his feelings. Sophie hits back, You hurt me, when do you stop to think about me? Benedict replies, Every moment of every day... you have taken possession of me.
The duo share a passionate kiss, before Anthony Bridgerton, portrayed by Jonathan Bailey, pulls his younger brother aside to warn him, You've convinced yourself that she is reason enough to risk everything! Violet Bridgerton, played by Ruth Gemmell, confronts Benedict about his decision to chase Sophie, explaining, There is one choice you will have to make: your family. Whatever you choose, you must live with it forever.
Iconic Bath Scene Teased
In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it flash, it also appears Violet is back in the bedroom with her love interest, Lady Danbury's brother Marcus. A split-second clip shows Sophie and Benedict sharing another passionate kiss, while a third teaser highlights the iconic bath scene that thrilled fans in a previous trailer released this month.
The series shines a spotlight on Luke Thompson's Benedict, the free-spirited second eldest brother of the Bridgerton family, as he finds love with Sophie, the illegitimate daughter of an Earl forced into servitude. While fans watched Benedict and Sophie grow closer, it all appeared to be ruined in the cliffhanger fourth episode, when the ladies' maid stormed off after being asked to be a mistress.
However, the first look confirms it will not be long before the two characters share an intimate moment again, this time around a steamy bathtub. The clip shows Benedict and Sophie looking wantonly toward one another across a bath filled in one of the bedrooms of Bridgerton House. Pacing around it together, the pair soon engage in a close embrace where Benedict leans in to kiss Sophie.
The ladies' maid is then seen completely undressed, letting down her hair, as she stands alongside Benedict, who has also stripped off his clothes. Fans of the franchise have noted that the bath tub scene is important in the development of Benedict and Sophie's relationship, as it sees the couple finally opening up about their feelings for one another.
