Zara Tindall showed her close bond with Queen Camilla during a rare joint outing at Ascot Racecourse this weekend for British Champions Day. The two royal women were seen chatting together, and as they said goodbye, Zara made a sweet, discreet gesture: she stroked Queen Camilla's arm and gave her two small gentle squeezes.
A Warm Farewell at Ascot
Zara, who is Princess Anne's daughter and King Charles's niece, was accompanied to the event by her husband Mike Tindall. Earlier in the day, the royal women greeted each other with a kiss on the cheek. The affectionate goodbye came after they spent time talking with one another, highlighting the friendly relationship between them.
Zara's Bond with King Charles
Zara also has a close relationship with King Charles, often seen laughing together at events over the years. Former royal gardener Jack Stooks once commented on this, saying: "Zara always seems quite lighthearted. The King has a good sense of humour and is fun as well, but people don't necessarily see that much. They don't know what he's like, so he can seem a bit stiff. But I think Zara brings a bit of that cheeky naughtiness out of him, and she can always make him laugh."
Next Public Appearance with the King
King Charles did not attend Ascot Racecourse this weekend. The next time he is likely to be seen in public with his niece is on Christmas Day, when royals gather at Sandringham for festivities and do a public walkabout after walking to church. King Charles and Queen Camilla typically lead the family during this event, which is one of the main occasions, apart from Royal Ascot and Easter Sunday, when the King is seen with Zara.
