Prince William may not forgive his younger brother Prince Harry for his past criticisms of the Firm, but it is believed he may support his father King Charles reconciling with the duke. While William, 44, has not seen his estranged brother for some time, the monarch saw his youngest son just weeks ago.
King's recent meetings with Harry
Over the last few years, the King has seen Harry a few times when the duke has visited the UK from his home in America, but tensions are believed to have still existed. This is because of Harry’s very public criticisms of royal life, including on Netflix, in interviews, and in his bombshell 2023 memoir Spare.
However, it seems that the King could be on his way to forgiving his youngest son. This has been shown in the fact that after reuniting just weeks ago, the monarch has reportedly offered Harry the chance to stay at Buckingham Palace on his September visit.
William's stance
An offer of accommodation was given to Harry in July for his last visit, however the duke took too long to accept, resulting in the offer being withdrawn. While William may not agree with his father’s offer to Harry, it is believed that he could support it as he believes in doing whatever is the right thing for the monarchy.
In this case, this could mean the King being seen to get along with his youngest son after years of tension.
Expert insight
British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital: "William believes the monarchy must be seen to do the right thing, even when it's painful. From what I understand, he felt his father didn't handle that firmly enough. He also believes in protecting it by drawing hard lines. But he's not the king yet."
While William could support his father’s actions, it is believed he doesn’t want to reunite with his brother Harry. This is because The Prince of Wales reportedly finds it hard to forgive, and will no doubt be untrusting of Harry as a result of his actions over the last few years.
