Prince William is reportedly not on speaking terms with Prince Harry after a series of disagreements. Royal expert Christopher Andersen said: "He [Prince William] is still peeved at his brother and has no interest in welcoming him back into the royal fold, but he isn’t cruel."
Prince Harry stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and has spoken publicly about his wish to reunite with his family, most notably in a BBC interview in May 2025.
Last seen together in 2022
The brothers were last seen together in public in September 2022, nearly four years ago. They carried out a joint walkabout with Meghan Markle and Catherine to meet fans who had gathered outside Windsor Castle after the death of Queen Elizabeth.
The relationship is said to have begun fracturing around the time Harry started dating Meghan. Prince William allegedly raised concerns about the speed of the relationship before the couple's 2018 wedding, according to The Independent.
Tensions after Spare
Tensions escalated after Harry and Meghan's interview with Oprah Winfrey and again after the publication of Harry's memoir, Spare, in 2023, which contained a series of damaging allegations against the Royal Family.
Harry has said: "Of course, some members of my family will never forgive me for writing a book. Of course, they will never forgive me for lots of things."
ABC reported that royal expert and historian Andrew Lownie believes Harry’s family and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie will be stripped of their titles, though Andersen does not agree.
UK visit without William
Prince Harry recently made a five-day trip to the UK to mark the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
During the visit, he, Meghan, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House. The meeting was a private family affair, with Charles reportedly keen to see his grandchildren for the first time since 2022.
It is understood that Prince Harry did not meet Prince William during the trip.
