William and Kate Install Privacy Measures at New 'Forever Home'

The Prince and Princess of Wales are preparing to move from Adelaide Cottage to Forest Lodge on the Windsor Home Park estate, with plans to install new privacy measures at their 'forever home'. According to a report in the Sunday Mirror, the couple is planting new trees and hedgerows and building fences to shield the property from public view. The renovations, which also include interior decorating, are being funded by the couple themselves, and they will reportedly pay market rent once they move in.

The 10-bedroom Forest Lodge, a Grade II listed building dating back around 300 years, underwent £1.5 million in restoration works in 2001. Redacted planning applications were lodged with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead Council in June, with permission granted in July for internal and external renovations. While no official move-in date has been announced, it is believed the family will leave Adelaide Cottage before the end of the year.

William and Kate are expected to continue their practice of not having live-in staff, despite the size of the new property. They employ a Norland-trained nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, but have opted for a more relaxed environment for their three children. HELLO!'s Online Royal Correspondent Danielle Stacey noted that the family is settled at Lambrook School nearby and will remain close to Windsor Castle for royal engagements, making Forest Lodge an ideal 'forever home'.
