James Jordan and Ola Jordan, former professional dancers on Strictly Come Dancing, have announced their split after almost 23 years of marriage. The couple, who met in 1999 and married in 2003, have begun a trial separation, according to a statement from their manager and friend Vickie White.
Statement Confirms Separation
White told The Sun: "It is with great sadness that I can confirm that James and Ola began a trial separation some time ago. Their shared priority remains co-parenting their daughter, Ella, and they are committed to putting her wellbeing first. They would greatly appreciate your understanding as they navigate this difficult time."
The couple welcomed their daughter Ella in 2020. The news comes as a surprise to many, as the pair had seemed a tight-knit couple throughout their time in the public eye.
Vanessa Feltz's Confession
Last year, the couple appeared taken aback when Vanessa Feltz confessed on her Channel 5 show that she had fallen "passionately in love" with James during their time together on Strictly in 2013. Feltz, who was partnered with James on the show, admitted to the couple: "For an insane 24 to 48 hours I fell passionately in love with him."
She recalled meeting Ola for the first time, adding: "Then I remember you coming in to show me how steps should be done and then I kind of woke up thinking this is ridiculous but there is something intoxicating." James asked if she had really fallen in love with him, to which she replied: "I did, for about 48 hours."
Feltz was voted out of the competition in the second week but said at the time: "I will miss everything, especially James and dancing, the glamour, the sequins and the fun of it all. Thank you very much indeed for having me, it’s been a lovely time."
