Shane Richie sells £1.75m home amid divorce from Christie

EastEnders star Shane Richie has reportedly sold his family home following the end of his marriage to Christie. The couple, who married in 2007, have reportedly dissolved their marriage, with claims that Christie grew 'fed up' with the actor's recent behaviour.

Home sold 'subject to contract'

Shane, 62, and Christine, 47, reportedly sold their £1.75m five-bedroom Surrey home 'subject to contract'. The property was put on the market in March, and the couple bought it in 2008.

A source told The Sun: 'Shane and Christie's split happened a few months back. They put their house on the market in March and it took a few months to get a buyer in place.' The source added: 'Hopefully if it goes smoothly, they will be moving this year and settling down again in separate houses. No divorce is pretty but they've tried to be as amicable as possible for their children.'

Divorce after 19 years

The news comes just weeks after Shane was charged with drink-driving following an incident at a Tesco petrol station in Essex. The couple share three children: Mackenzie Blue, 20, Lolita Bell, 18, and Romani-Skye Angel Shelley, 15.

Another source told The Sun: 'Christie was at the end of her tether with Shane and had enough. The divorce was her decision after talking it through with relatives. She had put up with a lot over the years and has had a really hard time of things lately.'

The source added: 'There was not one specific incident that led to the end, but a build-up of things. She got fed up with his behaviour and did not take the decision lightly.'

Amicable split

'Christie has been grown-up about it and not booted him out. She still has a lot of love for him but decided they could not go on as husband and wife. They have three children together so that is her main concern.'

Daily Star contacted Shane's representative for comment.
