Sources suggest Sarah, 65, was livid about the couple upstaging her daughter. While she never explicitly commented, she published multiple tweets celebrating Eugenie and Jack's wedding, strategically timed with the palace's official pregnancy announcement, which was seen as a deliberate dig.
In his memoir Spare, Harry explained why they chose to share the news during the wedding: 'Euge was getting married, to Jack, and we were deliriously happy for them and for ourselves... The various gatherings connected to the wedding would give us a chance to pull aside family members one by one and tell them our good news.'
