Queen Camilla was pictured on a secret shopping trip near Balmoral Castle on Monday, enjoying a girls' day out in the Scottish village of Ballater with her sister, daughter, and granddaughter.
Casual Outing in Ballater
Dressed casually in jeans, a blue shirt, a navy jumper, and a Parker jacket, Camilla enjoyed retail therapy with her nearest and dearest in the village, less than eight miles from Balmoral Castle. She and her sister clutched small paper bags after leaving A.B. Yule, a book shop that also serves as a newsagent and toy shop, before walking further along the high street with her daughter, Laura Lopes, 48, and 18-year-old granddaughter, Eliza Lopes, following closely behind.
The four women then left the clothing store Kt Boutique with their arms full of shopping bags, the Queen grinning as she left, clutching two additional bags. Two plain-clothed police protection officers were seen accompanying the family.
Family Presence
The Queen's 16-year-old twin grandsons, Gus and Harry Lopes, also joined the family for the shopping trip, though they appeared to head straight back into the car after popping into the newsagents. Pictures of Camilla enjoying retail therapy come as the King and Queen enjoy their traditional summer break at Balmoral Castle, where the Queen spends hours outdoors walking her dogs and curling up with a good book.
Local Familiarity
Locals are used to members of the Royal Family popping into Ballater during their stay at Balmoral, with the Queen enjoying a similar visit with her sister, daughter, and granddaughter last summer. The King and Queen will play host to a wide number of guests during their time in Scotland, including Camilla's family, the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, the Princess Royal and her husband, Sir Tim, and new Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
