Queen Camilla drew attention at the Festival of Remembrance on Saturday evening after appearing with a new brooch, identified by fans on X as a rare antique diamond flower brooch from Christie's auction. The King and Queen attended the event at the Royal Albert Hall in London to pay tribute to the nation's fallen heroes.
They were joined by the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and Sir Timothy Laurence, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.
Fan Reactions to the Brooch
Alongside three poppies pinned to her black dress, Camilla's brooch prompted a wave of social media comments. One fan wrote: "Spectacular." Another added: "It's GORGEOUS. It looks like a clematis bloom," to which another replied: "Now that's a brooch! Beautiful..." A fourth wrote: "I LOVE this. HM looks great, too," and a fifth added: "Splendid," followed by red heart emojis.
During the evening, the Queen was seen leaning towards her husband to whisper a question. A lipreader shared that she asked the King: "Who was it that sang that?" Caught slightly off guard, the King replied: "What, dear."
Royal Attire and Tributes
Catherine, Princess of Wales, wore a black-and-white polka-dot dress by Alessandra Rich. In a nod to the late Queen Elizabeth II, she wore statement earrings that once belonged to her, along with the Irish Guards Regimental Brooch and a bespoke poppy handmade from silk, glass, and natural materials by Royal School of Needlework graduate Izzy Ager.
The King and Queen attended the event just hours after returning from a tour of the Caribbean. The family later stepped out at the Cenotaph in London, where the King led the royals in laying wreaths in honour of the nation's fallen heroes.
