Princess Kate pays poignant tribute to Queen Elizabeth at Remembrance

The Princess of Wales paid tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II on Saturday evening by wearing a pair of the late monarch's earrings, estimated to be worth £100,000, as she appeared at the Royal Albert Hall alongside the rest of the Royal Family.

Princess Catherine joined the King and Queen, the Prince of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Princess Anne and other members of the Royal Family at the annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance. The King led his family into the event, having been appointed Patron of the Royal British Legion in 2024.

A Recycled Dress and a Regimental Brooch

Catherine wore a recycled black, polka-dot dress by Alessandra Rich. She paired the garment with the Irish Guards Regimental Brooch, in her role as Colonel.

She also made a sentimental nod to the late Queen by wearing the earrings, which feature brilliant-cut diamonds arranged in a floral and orbital motif, with a larger central stone anchoring the base of each pendant.

A Handmade Poppy and This Year's Theme

Catherine finished the look by wearing a poppy by Izzy Ager of Lock & Co., who has recently graduated from The Royal School of Needlework. The poppy is handmade using silk, glass and other natural materials, and all proceeds are donated to The Poppy Appeal. Catherine wore the same poppy during last year's commemorations.

This year's Remembrance marks significant anniversaries of operations in Bosnia, the end of the Gulf War and the Iraq War. At the heart of this year's Festival is the theme of Places of Remembrance, exploring how the places people associate with those we have lost can hold profound personal meaning.

Zack Stone, of jewellers Steven Stone, has previously said about the earrings: "The Princess of Wales dazzled in a breathtaking pair of earrings that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II. Each piece features brilliant-cut diamonds arranged in a floral and orbital motif, with a larger central stone anchoring the base of each pendant – a design that evokes both eternal elegance and the enduring legacy of the monarchy. The floral pattern symbolises grace and renewal, while the orbit-like arrangement suggests unity, continuity, and the far-reaching influence of the crown."

"A true emblem of regal sophistication, this glittering pair are likely to be worth an astonishing £100,000."
