Princess Kate admits she always forgets her handbag on visits

The Princess of Wales has admitted she often forgets her handbag when heading out, with people running after her to remind her. She made the confession during a visit to West Sussex on September 30, where she was learning about a volunteer-led community transport service.

Handbag confession during minibus ride

Catherine was travelling in a West Sussex Minibus with 94-year-old Strella Drewett when she revealed her habit of misplacing accessories. She reportedly joked: "Everyone always runs after me [shouting], 'You forgot your handbag'."

The visit highlighted the service that helps people around West Sussex stay connected with loved ones and activities that matter most to them.

Previous handbag moment in Jamaica

The confession echoes a moment from 2022, when Kate and Prince William visited Jamaica. After a welcoming ceremony, she appeared to leave her handbag on a chair before quickly remembering and calmly retrieving it, according to Woman and Home.

Favourite chore revealed

During the same West Sussex visit, Catherine also revealed her favourite chore, sitting alongside 75-year-old Linda Jones. She said: "I love washing up. I get very into washing up."

Asked whether William helps out, she said: "He does the drying. We are a good double act. And we get the children involved."

Public reaction and private life

The moment was captured on video and shared on social media, with many people warming to the future queen. One person wrote on X: "She is just so natural." A second commented: "She's so down to earth". A third fan added: "She's just so lovely."

Washing up is not the only ordinary thing the princess does away from the royal spotlight. The mother-of-three often does the school run and enjoys cooking for her children, despite having royal staff available. Both Catherine and William have felt strongly about having no live-in staff and giving their children as ordinary an upbringing at home as possible.
