Princess Eugenie's Real Reason for Choosing Portugal Revealed
Princess Eugenie's Real Reason for Portugal Life

Princess Eugenie has revealed the real reason she chose to raise her young family in Portugal: the relaxed atmosphere that allows her to do things she simply can't do in the UK.

Eugenie, who shares two sons with Jack Brooksbank, welcomed her first daughter in Portugal on August 3. The newborn's name has not yet been announced. The 36-year-old's pregnancy was revealed in early May, with Eugenie reportedly around six months along at the time.

Why Portugal?

Speaking on the Table Manners podcast before her pregnancy was announced, Eugenie explained her fondness for the country. She told hosts Jessie and Lennie Ware: "Portugal is the dream because I can go to the supermarket in my exercise gear and my hair piled on my head and not mind. Not care. No one cares."

The family splits their time between Portugal and the UK due to Jack's work commitments, but this relaxed feeling appears to be a key draw for Eugenie.

Royal Connections

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry also reportedly enjoy visiting Portugal, having spent time there with their children last month. Before visiting the UK, they took Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, to enjoy the sun in Portugal. Meghan shared photos on Instagram, including one of Harry playing in the sea with the children.

It remains unknown whether Meghan and Harry visited Eugenie during their trip to Portugal.
