Princess Eugenie has marked her eighth wedding anniversary by sharing a new video of her two-month-old daughter, Adelaide, on Instagram. In the post, she thanked her husband, Jack Brooksbank, for being the "best Dada and partner".
New video shows Jack with newborn Adelaide
The video shows Jack holding the newborn in his arms, rubbing her head and rocking her from side to side. Eugenie, 36, captioned the post: "Happy 8 years married my love. What you can't hear in this video is Jack asking our daughter if she likes her head being massaged that way… so thoughtful, caring, and best Dada there is to our 3. Couldn't have wished for a better partner".
Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank, the couple's third child, was born on August 3 in Lisbon, Portugal. She is a younger sibling to the couple's two sons, August, five, and Ernest, three, known as Augie and Ernie.
Wedding and name tribute
Eugenie and Jack married at St George's Chapel in Windsor in October 2018. Eugenie previously revealed that her daughter's name was a tribute to "three people we love and admire past and present", including Adelaide's late great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, and to reflect both English and Portuguese history – "two places we love and call home".
The birth of Adelaide marked a rare occasion where a member of the British royal family has been born overseas, with Eugenie and her husband having a home and other connections in Portugal.
Family background and recent turmoil
Eugenie is the youngest daughter of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson and is currently 12th in line to the British throne. She splits her time between Ivy Cottage at Kensington Palace and a property on Portugal's Alentejo coast, with reports that her Portuguese residence provides the family with distance from the scandal surrounding her parents.
The family has faced months of turmoil after the release of the Epstein files in February, which exposed more details of Andrew and his former wife's connection to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
