Princess Charlotte, aged 11, has charmed royal fans with a kind gesture captured on camera at Sandringham last Christmas. The young royal hugged a well-wisher in the crowd, prompting some to call her "kindhearted" and compare her to the late Queen Elizabeth II.
A Heartwarming Moment Caught on Camera
The princess stole the show as the royals celebrated Christmas by hugging wellwishers in the crowds. In a video shared on X, one fan wrote: "A heartwarming video of Princess Charlotte hugging a well-wisher today."
Commenting on the video, one person said: "She has perfect role models with both her parents." Another wrote: "What an angel of a child." A third person added: "Princess Charlotte is such a sweetheart."
Piano Performance with Princess Catherine
The Wales family's Christmas Day celebrations came after Princess Catherine and Princess Charlotte's pre-recorded Christmas piano duet aired. The mother and daughter sat together to play a piece by Scottish composer Erland Cooper for Catherine's annual Christmas carol concert.
The performance was for the Together at Christmas concert, held at Westminster Abbey on December 5 2025. Charlotte had also been caught on television the evening before the appearance at the concert playing the piano, which left viewers speechless.
Royal Family Reunion Questions
Now that Prince Harry is living in the UK once more with his wife, Meghan Markle, and his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, royal fans are questioning whether there will be any form of family reunion over the festive season. The Sussexes did reunite with King Charles and Queen Camilla in July, when they were hosted by them at Highgrove House in a private meeting.
It is understood that Prince Harry has not met with his brother, Prince William, and that the two do not have any contact. Harry and Meghan quit their royal roles in 2020 before moving to the USA where they lived for six years.
Status as Non-Working Royals
Upon their arrival back to the UK, King Charles issued a letter via the Lord Chamberlain, Lord Benyon, clarifying the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's status as non-working royals. The letter stated that Harry and Meghan are "no longer working Members of The Royal Family" and said their position, including the "personal latitude it brings the couple in respect of financial independence and protection of their privacy as they would wish," would continue to be respected.
The letter added: "In short, their position is akin to private citizens with commercial and charitable interests."
