Prince William's Royal Balancing Act Revealed

Prince William, the Prince of Wales, has been described as a 'protector' and 'guardian' by royal commentator Dr Arthur Cassidy, following his recent appearance at Royal Ascot. The heir to the throne was seen mingling with extended family members, including his mother-in-law Carole Middleton and cousin Zara Tindall.

Dr Cassidy, a celebrity psychologist, told Hello! Magazine that William is 'consistently a calming influence on not only Carole but the entire Middleton family'. He added that the Prince is 'the protector and guardian of Kate and Princes George, Louis, and Princess Charlotte'.

On Carole Middleton's influence, Dr Cassidy noted that William would have been 'intuitively attracted to her charismatic nature and fun-loving personality'. He described her as an 'astute, highly motivated and driven businesswoman' who provided the context for William's personal identity development amid his royal responsibilities.

At Royal Ascot, Carole Middleton was also seen with Alizee Thevenet, who is married to James Middleton, the Princess of Wales's younger brother. The couple wed in an intimate ceremony in 2021.

William, Kate, and their three children were last seen publicly together at Trooping the Colour, where the Wales family shared a behind-the-scenes snapshot. Princess Kate has been making a slow return to public life after completing chemotherapy last autumn, attending events such as Wimbledon and Garter Day. A source said the future Queen 'has to find the right balance' as she resumes her duties.
