Kensington Palace shared a photograph of the Prince of Wales and his daughter Princess Charlotte to mark William’s 44th birthday, which fell on Father’s Day. The image was taken after the Trooping the Colour ceremony in the garden of Kensington Palace. William wore the scarlet dress uniform of the Welsh Guards, of which he is colonel, while Charlotte wore a cream dress.
Social Media Post
The photograph was posted on Instagram with the caption: “Happy birthday and Father’s Day to the best Papa in the World! We love you very much. C, G, C & L” along with an emoji of two pink hearts. The initials are believed to refer to Catherine, George, Charlotte, and Louis.
Royal Ascot Appearance
In his birthday week, the Prince of Wales was joined by his wife at Royal Ascot for the first time since 2023. On Wednesday, Kate and William took part in the traditional carriage ride, enjoyed the races from the royal box, and shared a joke with former England manager Sir Gareth Southgate before the World Cup match against Croatia. This was the princess’s first appearance at the Berkshire meet since being diagnosed with cancer in early 2024 and later undergoing successful chemotherapy treatment.
Other Engagements
The couple also attended Monday’s Garter Day celebrations at Windsor Castle. However, this birthday appears quieter than in 2024, when William took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to see Taylor Swift at Wembley Stadium.
