According to interior design expert Benji Lewis, who spoke with the Daily Mail, William and Kate have cultivated an "English, elegant grand country house" style for their new abode. The rooms are described as breezy and spacious with lofty, high ceilings and beautiful tall windows that flood the spaces with natural light.
Princess Kate is believed to have taken a very hands-on approach to the decoration, applying her keen eye for interior design to create a "contemporary classic" and "tastefully discreet" atmosphere. Lewis suggested the Princess likely enjoyed the process of researching fabrics and scheming the designs herself, finding it a welcome distraction from her official duties.
The couple have reportedly achieved a balance between calm and contemporary by blending neutral tones like ivory and taupe. For the luxurious soft furnishings, they turned to the esteemed British brand Marina Mill, which specialises in hand-designed fabrics costing over £100 per metre. The mill, which Kate visited in September, counts Buckingham Palace and Clarence House among its many royal clients.
