Prince William has reportedly reached a new stage in his strained relationship with Prince Harry, with insiders claiming the future King is no longer allowing the family dispute to occupy the same amount of emotional space.
According to the source material, Prince William and Kate Middleton have adopted what has been described by palace insiders as a “very old-school royal approach” to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK: “Keep calm, carry on, do the job.”
Focus on Future Role
Prince William is said to be focusing on his future role. Prince Harry and Meghan reportedly returned to the UK with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, in late August. King Charles subsequently confirmed that the couple would remain non-working royals, while William and Kate have largely remained silent on their return.
The reported change comes after years of public tension between the brothers, with Harry and Meghan discussing their experiences of royal life in interviews, a documentary and Prince Harry's memoir.

A source previously described as a friend of William told The Sunday Times that the Prince of Wales no longer talks about the family dispute in the way he once did.
“What has struck me the most recently is that he just doesn't mention it at all,” the friend reportedly said, adding that the family situation had previously taken up “a lot of space in his head”.
The source added that Prince William was no longer allowing the situation to affect him in the same way, describing the change as “sad” but “a much healthier space for him to be at”.
Character and Indifference
Jamie Lowther-Pinkerton, who previously served as private secretary to Prince William, Princess Kate and Prince Harry, reportedly viewed the change as evidence of William's character, saying he had taken the situation “in his stride” and would not be “pushed around”.
Other reports have gone further, claiming Prince William and Princess Kate have reached a point of indifference towards the Sussexes. Sources speaking to Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice claimed that “the anger has gone”, while another alleged that William had spent years being furious before eventually reaching a point where he had stopped caring.
One insider claimed Prince Harry and Meghan's proximity to the Waleses now makes little difference to William, saying the future King is focused on Kate, his children, his work and his future.
