Prince William has long been a beloved figure in the Royal Family, and those who have worked closely with him offer a glimpse into his true character behind closed doors. Former royal gardener Jack Stooks, who spent time with the prince away from the cameras, describes him as remarkably down-to-earth and deeply committed to his family.
Insights from a Former Royal Gardener
Jack Stooks, who worked at Highgrove, shared his observations with Smooth Spins Casino's online radio brand. He noted that Prince William has always been very family-oriented, a trait evident from his younger years when he and Prince Harry were inseparable at polo matches and sporting events.
“When he was younger, both he and Harry would be together everywhere. At the polo or watching sporting events, it was very much that family unit from that early age,” Stooks recalled.
A Normal Life Behind Palace Walls
Stooks described a surprisingly ordinary domestic scene, with William, Kate Middleton, and even Harry's former girlfriend Chelsea Davy often gathered in the kitchen chatting with the chef. “You'd see them all in the kitchen together chatting to the chef, and it was just a very normal, happy way of life. They would have barbecues on the weekend and have friends over to visit,” he said.
Growing Confidence Over the Years
According to Stooks, William's public demeanor has evolved significantly. “William has definitely changed over the years. When I first started at Highgrove, I remember seeing him doing certain interviews, and he was slightly more reserved,” Stooks explained. “He's a lot more natural when you see him being interviewed now — he's so much more used to it than he was. He is definitely doing them a lot more, and they come more naturally. He's definitely a lot more confident than he was.”
These firsthand accounts paint a picture of a future king who remains grounded despite his royal duties, cherishing family and personal connections above all.
