Prince Louis once again became the centre of attention as he wore a Wales hat and amused onlookers with his facial expressions during a rare public family day out. The eight-year-old royal appeared thoroughly unimpressed while watching the netball at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, sometimes holding his head in his hands and even yawning.
A Rare Appearance in Scotland
Louis joined his parents and older siblings on the last day of the games, sitting between Prince George, 13, and Princess Charlotte, 11, as the family watched Australia play Jamaica. This marked the first time the children have been publicly seen in Scotland and was only Louis's second official royal public engagement.
More Sporting Action
After the netball, the royals met volunteers and athletes at the Spectator Village. They then watched cycling in the Velodrome and boxing on a big screen in The Wales House to close out the games.
Previous Public Engagements
Louis has joined the family at Easter church services, Trooping the Colour, and the Platinum Jubilee. His only prior official public engagement was in May 2023 during the King's Coronation celebrations, when he took part in a Big Help Out volunteering initiative.
A Memorable Exit
The Commonwealth Games mascot Finnie was seen high-fiving George, Charlotte, and Louis, and fist-bumping Kate. The family then received cheers from waiting crowds as they made their way to their cars.
