Prince Harry has returned to the UK, and according to sources, there is a very simple reason why. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex brought their family back to Britain on Thursday, arriving at Birmingham Airport on a private plane from California shortly before midday on Wednesday.
The family were said to have travelled on a Bombardier Global Express XRS luxury long-range business jet for the overnight flight. The move comes just over a week after the announcement of their plans was made public.
Homesickness cited as key factor
The Sussexes' return came a year after Harry declared that he couldn't “see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK”. However, sources now claim there is a simple reason behind his bombshell decision.
A source close to the couple told People magazine: “Harry never really stopped missing home. He’s missed that sense of connection and belonging. Britain is still home in many ways.” Another source said the couple want to give their children the opportunity to “be here”.
Children enrolled in British schools
Archie, seven, and five-year-old Lilibet have been enrolled in British schools, ready to start in September. The family is said to be settling in the UK for an “extended period” of time, with speculation mounting over how long they will stay and where they will live.
The Cotswolds has been suggested as the most likely destination. Some reports hinted that the family would only remain for the autumn, while others said Harry planned to live in the UK for the next 12 to 15 years to give his children a British education.
