Prince Harry's reported hope of spending more time in Britain has been met with ridicule from online commentators. The Duke of Sussex is said to be planning to increase the frequency of his visits to the UK, following a reunion with King Charles last month.
A source told The Times that Harry would be "coming back and forth a lot more, every few months," ahead of the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham. The source added: "He wants more of a foothold here, more trips back, less courtroom drama. And he always loves seeing his family."
Online backlash
Social media users responded negatively to the claims. One wrote: "We don't want him." Another said: "Oh dear. Hope he doesn't seek the limelight too much as I don't think that seeing 'more and more of him' will thrill the majority of the British public; weary of the drama and the unpleasantness."
A third user questioned his motives, writing: "See his family? The people he writes about disparagingly in books? And whose private conversations he discusses in paid interviews? Sounds like his father is the only one willing to have him in his presence and that's only once every few years."
Reunion with King Charles
Prince Harry visited the King at Highgrove House in early July, accompanied by Meghan Markle and their children Archie and Lilibet. This was the first time Charles had seen his grandchildren in person since Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
The reunion was seen as a sign of improving relations between the Palace and the Sussexes, after years of estrangement. The meeting with Prince William is reportedly ongoing, with the family reunion taking place on the same afternoon William was playing in a charity polo match at Windsor.
