Prince Harry's team issued a clarification just over an hour after his interview aired, stating that his comments were not intended as an attack on the Royal Family. The Duke's spokesperson addressed speculation that arose after Harry spoke about "some people" not wanting him to reconcile with his brother, Prince William.
Clarification on Reconciliation Comments
In the interview, Harry was asked directly whether he was "grieving" his relationship with William, and he responded that "some people don't want" him to reconcile with his brother. This sparked widespread speculation about who those "people" might be, with many pointing to the future King.
Harry's spokesperson issued a fierce rebuke, stating that his comments were "absolutely not intended as a swipe at his brother or any other member of his family." They added: "The comment was made in a general context and was not directed at his family in any way."
Timing Overshadows Royal Events
The clarification came as the Royal Family hosted a state visit at Windsor, where they spent almost an hour outside in the pouring rain to welcome the Sultan of Oman. The interview dropped just as the event concluded, another example of the Sussex machine causing maximum damage.
Although sources are adamant that the timing of the interview was unrelated to them and entirely at the magazine's discretion, Harry and his team could have easily advised which days to avoid. Last week, the King's opening of the Welsh Parliament was overshadowed by the return of Harry and Meghan in Nottingham, and now the state visit was eclipsed by Harry's reconciliation plea.
Call for Private Reconciliation
If making amends is truly what he wants most, he should work on patching things up in private. No cameras, no interviews, just putting time and effort into proving to the Royal Family he has eaten humble pie and can be trusted again. Until then, it's just empty words, and no one is buying it.
