Prince Harry is reportedly planning more frequent visits to the UK as part of an effort to repair his strained relationship with his brother, Prince William, and sister-in-law, Kate Middleton. However, royal experts suggest that William may not be ready to forgive.
Harry's olive branch
Sources close to Harry say he wants to extend an olive branch to William and Kate, following a visit last month that included a reunion with his wife, Meghan Markle, and the King and Queen. An insider told Heat World: "He misses his brother and sister-in-law, and wants his father to see his sons at peace."
The source added: "On top of that, Diana’s anniversary is coming up there are all these emotional reasons for wanting to find a way forward."
William's reluctance
Royal commentator Phil Dampier told the Daily Mail: "William and Harry put aside their differences for the unveiling of the statue of their mother, Princess Diana [five years ago], but things are much worse now."
He added: "I think William would find it very hard to meet Harry, even to honour Diana's memory."
More frequent trips
Insiders say Harry intends to fly back to the UK "every few months," with a source telling the press: "The template for his visits has been working well, so the frequency of trips will increase, especially in the run-up to Invictus. He’ll be coming back and forth a lot more, every few months."
The source continued: "The way the wind is blowing, he’s going to want to be here more and more. He wants more of a foothold here, more trips back, less courtroom drama. And he always loves seeing his family."
Harry is expected to return to British soil as early as September for a week-long stay focusing primarily on his charity commitments. However, the test will be whether the relationship between the brothers can be repaired, especially after William was reportedly furious over Meghan Markle's Instagram post featuring a snap of Althorp Estate, Princess Diana's family home and final resting place.
