Prince Harry made a surprise public appearance this week near his Montecito mansion, attending a One805 event without his wife Meghan Markle. The Duke of Sussex spent the day with the non-profit organisation, which supports the mental health of first responders in Santa Barbara County, sharing his advice and wisdom on mental wellness.
Engaging Discussion
The duke took part in an hour-long “lively” discussion where he spoke with first responders and those who support them about trauma, pressure and mental wellness. A photograph shared by One805 showed Harry smiling at the event.
One805 posted: “One805 was proud to bring together 49 Peer Support team members from law enforcement agencies across Santa Barbara County, including the County Sheriff’s Office and Santa Maria, Lompoc, Guadalupe and Santa Barbara Police Departments, for a day dedicated to connection, learning and mental wellness. A highlight of the hugely successful day was an hour-long, lively and heartfelt discussion with Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. A veteran himself, and someone who has dedicated much of his work to mental wellness, his insights, openness and empathy were enthusiastically received by the group.”
Supporting First Responders
One805 supports first responders from fire, police and emergency medical services in Santa Barbara County. The organisation raises funds to provide mental wellness support, essential equipment and resources for these responders.
