Piers Morgan Slams Sussexes' UK Trip as 'Pathetic Tribute Act'

Piers Morgan has condemned Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's recent trip to Nottingham as a "pathetic royal tribute act," accusing the couple of deliberately overshadowing King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Launching into a furious rant on X, the TV star claimed the Sussexes stole the spotlight from the King and Queen during their visit to Wales on Thursday (15 October), where they met Aberfan survivors.

Morgan's Furious Reaction

"The Sussex grifters doing their pathetic royal tribute act yesterday, deliberately stealing media attention from the King & Queen's visit to Wales where they met Aberfan survivors, is contemptible," Piers tweeted on Friday (16 October). "How dare they just waltz back here to do even more damage to the Royal Family?"

Taking to the comments, fellow X users were left divided by Piers' comments. "The timing speaks for itself. The Royal Family deserves respect, and public attention should be on the King and Queen's important visit to Wales," agreed one. "That was their plan all along," remarked a second.

Mixed Reactions From X Users

Meanwhile, others pointed out that Piers himself continues to cover Meghan and Harry. "'How dare they steal attention!' screams the man actively using his platform to talk about Harry and Meghan instead of the actual King and Queen. The irony is completely lost on you, isn't it?" quipped a third. "Meghan and Harry live in your head rent-free, Morgan," remarked a fourth.

Piers, one of Harry and Meghan's most vocal critics, had already condemned the couple for trying to launch their own "rival royal operation" just days before they headed to Nottingham, now that they've returned to Britain.

Sussexes' First Joint Engagement

"It's actually outrageous that these two are now running a rival royal family operation in the UK, purely for personal gain," he declared. "Can't even imagine how furious the working Royals, doing their selfless duty day in, day out, must feel about it."

A milestone moment for the Sussexes, Meghan and Harry travelled to Nottingham on Thursday for their first joint engagement since returning to the UK. Receiving a warm welcome in the city, the duo began their day with a trip to the Community Recording Studio, followed by a tour and cooking class at the Himmah Hub.

They concluded their day at Epic Partners, a charity that offers sports activities, youth programmes, and personalised mentoring. During the visit, Meghan and Harry were cheered on by locals and fans, some of whom presented them with gifts and flowers. At one point in the day, Meghan was heard telling a woman in the crowd, "Oh, it's great to be back".
