A Delta Connection flight was disrupted on Tuesday after a reported conflict broke out between cabin crew members, prompting the captain to warn that flight attendants may need to be separated to prevent further escalation.
The incident occurred aboard Delta Connection flight DL5090, operated by Endeavor Air, as the Mitsubishi CRJ-900LR regional aircraft was on its final approach to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport in Michigan. The flight had departed from Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport in South Carolina, a route that typically takes around one hour and 20 minutes.
Captain radios ground control
The precise nature of the dispute has not been revealed. However, the captain radioed ground control to flag the situation, cautioning that crew members might need to be kept apart to stop tensions from boiling over.
During the approach, the captain told ground control: "We are experiencing conflict issues among the flight attendants and will likely need to separate them to prevent further escalation or an incident."
Supervisory staff requested at gate
According to Air Live, in-flight management and supervisory staff were reportedly requested to meet the aircraft directly at the gate upon its arrival. The plane touched down safely shortly afterwards, with no further trouble reported.
Endeavor Air is a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, operating regional routes throughout the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Delta Air Lines has been contacted for a response regarding Tuesday's incident.
