Meghan Markle's 'snub' by David Foster explained

Meghan Markle had an awkward encounter with a Hollywood star last week, and now insiders have set the record straight on what actually happened. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a rare joint appearance last Friday when they attended the David Foster Foundation 40th Anniversary Celebration in Canada.

Awkward Red Carpet Moment

While on the red carpet, Prince Harry and his wife beamed as they posed for the cameras. In a clip that has been shared online and has now gone viral, the couple are seen being approached by Mr Foster and his wife, Katharine McPhee. However, as Meghan extends her arms to greet the composer, he appears to completely ignore her and move forward.

The duchess regains her composure and swiftly pulls her arms back and leans on her husband. The clip has been making the rounds on social media, with various fans taking note of the awkward moment.

Insiders Dismiss Snub Claims

But sources close to the composer dismissed the claims and said Mr Foster simply “did not see her”. One source told the Daily Mail: “He's always been a big fan of [Princess] Diana and he'd never snub either of them.”

“It was a genuine moment where he didn't see them and nobody really thought much of it. It's nothing.”

Foster's Excitement to See the Sussexes

Another source added that the Hollywood star was “so excited to see Harry and Meghan” as they are “longtime friends”. They explained: “As host of the evening, David had a lot going on at the moment. David was doing interviews in that moment too.”

“They had already said hi before that photo moment. There were lots of hugs and David introduced Harry & Meghan to his other family there.”
